Order and delivery of Climbing Roses

I placed an order for two Climbing Roses and a pair of Gardening Gloves. The website was easy enough to navigate, though I had a small question about delivery dates, which I asked via their contact form. I received a reply within a day, which was helpful. The order took 6 days to reach me in Arizona, which I thought was reasonable for live plants. The roses were well-packed in sturdy boxes, and the soil was still damp. One rose had a slightly bent stem, but it looked superficial and didn't seem to affect the plant's health. The gloves were decent quality for the price. Overall, a smooth transaction with good communication.

Good value for a first purchase

I was looking for a good deal on some Floribunda Roses and found Harkness. I signed up for the newsletter and got 10% off my first order, which was a nice saving. The roses themselves seemed healthy when they arrived, and the delivery was free since my order was over the threshold. It felt like a solid purchase for the price I paid.

Beautiful roses, amazing quality

I ordered a Potted Gift Rose for my mum's birthday, and it was absolutely stunning! The packaging was perfect, and the rose arrived in fantastic condition. She loved it! I will definitely shop here again, and I've already told my sister about it.

Consistent quality, reliable service

I've bought from Harkness Roses several times now, mostly Shrub Roses and some Rose Fertilizer. This time I ordered a few more Shrub Roses and the experience was just as good as always. The plants always arrive well-packaged, and they seem to thrive once planted. I appreciate that their bare root roses come with clear planting instructions. It's why I keep coming back, really. They're very dependable.

Hey guys, thinking of getting some roses from Harkness. How are they usually delivered? Worried about them getting squashed in transit.

S Sam 2 months ago

Mine came in a pretty sturdy box, like they were well protected. Each rose was kind of secured in its own slot with some damp wrapping around the roots. Mine was a potted one though.

N Neil 2 months ago

yeah they use good packaging, usually DPD or something similar. Mine arrived fine, plants looked healthy. they have a guarantee too if anything goes wrong.

Can you actually combine discount codes on their site? Got a newsletter one and saw they have a multi-buy offer too.

E Emma Romero 2 months ago

Nah, usually you can only use one code per order. Most sites are like that these days. It'll say in the terms of the discount if it's stackable, but I doubt it.

C Cody B. 2 months ago

I've never been able to combine them at checkout. It's usually either the discount code OR the multi-buy price, not both. Best to just pick the one that saves you the most.

So, I'm eyeing up some bare root roses. When's the best time to actually buy them from Harkness? Don't want to get them at the wrong time of year.

G Greg 3 months ago

Bare roots are typically shipped in late autumn through to early spring when they're dormant. So like, November to March. That's when they'll have the best selection too.

M Marcus Whitfield 3 months ago

I usually order mine in autumn and they deliver them when it's the right time for planting. You can often pre-order for the next season too if you want specific ones.

Quick question, does Harkness Roses usually do a discount for first-time buyers? Thinking of placing a big order.

G Gwen R. 2 months ago

I think so? I signed up for their newsletter and got a code for my first purchase, like 10% off. Worth checking that out.

F Faith Beaumont 2 months ago

Yeah, they usually have something for signing up to emails. Not sure if it stacks with other sales though, probably not.

How do Harkness roses compare to David Austin? I'm looking for something super fragrant but also disease resistant. Kinda torn between the two.

J James K. 3 months ago

Harkness has some amazing disease resistant varieties, that's what they're known for. My 'Chandos Beauty' is super fragrant and healthy. David Austin's are lovely too, but I've found some of mine to be a bit more prone to blackspot.

C Cleo 3 months ago

Both are great honestly. I'd check out the specific rose varieties you're interested in on each site and see reviews. Harkness has a good 'fragrant roses' section that might help you decide.
